Can I own more than one EIN?

I’m running a U.S. LLC as a nonresident and recently started another business under the same LLC. Can I apply for a new EIN for this new venture, or should I use the same EIN as my original business?

No, you generally cannot own more than one EIN for a single business entity. The IRS intends for EINs to be unique identifiers for each business. If you operate multiple separate businesses in the US, you can obtain a unique EIN for each one.
