Can I handle my U.S. taxes on my own (DIY)?

This is my first year earning as an independent contractor alongside my job. I’m wondering—can I handle my U.S. taxes on my own using software, or should I hire a CPA to avoid mistakes and penalties?

You could try, but it’s risky. U.S. tax laws are tricky, and one small mistake—like filing the wrong form or missing a deadline or even a bit of misinformation—can bring penalties that hit like a bolt out of the blue. We’re not saying you must choose Business Globalizer, but always work with an expert or a tax attorney. DIY isn’t worth the risk if you’re not experienced.
