Which is better for a non-resident: LLC or C-Corp?

When I decided to start a business in the U.S. as a non-resident, I had to choose between forming an LLC or a C-Corp. My main concern was understanding how taxes would work in both the U.S. and my home country. With an LLC, the pass-through taxation seemed straightforward, but I worried about double taxation if my home country didn’t have a favorable tax treaty. On the other hand, the C-Corp offered the advantage of separating personal and corporate taxes, which felt simpler for handling international operations. Ultimately, I had to weigh my goals—simplicity versus scalability—to make the right choice.
