I’m setting up payment processing for my online business and trying to choose between options. Why would someone pick Authorize.net, Braintree, or Intuit instead of just using PayPal? Are there real advantages in terms of fees, support, or stability?

\”All of the services you mentioned are payment gateways. They make it possible to accept payments in the first place.
Each does one thing or another better than others.
For example, it’s a bit easier to use Braintree than PayPal (Braintree is a PayPal subsidiary).
Authorize can be integrated deeply with your application, shop, or website to seamlessly collect payments. Your customers won’t even know it exists. It’s possible to set up subscription billing as well.
It’s not possible to do that with PayPal because they like to include their branding on transactions. The subscription payments are also handled in a different way from most payment gateways.
Instead of creating or cancelling from within the vendor’s app or store, you have to go to your PayPal account and cancel. It requires a few extra steps.
Inuit is a payment gateway but it’s ideal for sending out invoices. You can use it for your Ecommerce store or membership site but this wasn’t it’s original purpose so it’s playing catch up in that regard.
Bottom line, PayPal was built with the customer in mind – not the vendor.\”
