A personal PayPal account is designed for personal use and is meant for buying and receiving money from friends and family. While you can receive payments from clients, it may be less professional and limit your ability to manage finances effectively. You won’t have access to features like invoicing, business tools, or payment customization. A personal PayPal account is suitable for casual, low-volume transactions but lacks key business tools.

For a freelance web designer, a business PayPal account is the better choice if you\’re planning to take on multiple clients and manage payments professionally. It allows you to accept credit/debit card payments, create invoices, access advanced reporting tools, and use your business name for branding. While it has slightly higher fees, the added features justify the cost.

Also if you are living from the PayPal unsupported country, you can\’t open a personal PayPal account. In this case you have to open business PayPal account. If you are serious about your freelance web design business and anticipate regular transactions, it’s advisable to set up a Business PayPal account.
