I’m a nonresident shareholder of a UK company and plan to sell some of my shares. I’m unsure if I’ll need to pay Capital Gains Tax on the sale. Does the tax apply to nonresidents, or are there exceptions for foreign investors?

Nonresidents generally do not pay Capital Gains Tax (CGT) on UK company shares unless the company’s assets consist mainly of UK property or land. In such cases, CGT may apply. Check if a double taxation treaty with your country offers exemptions or relief.
