Does Stripe and Wise require passport mandatory?

I’m setting up accounts with Stripe and Wise for my business, but I’m unsure about the ID verification process. Do I really need to provide a passport, or can I use something like my driver’s license? I’m just trying to get everything up and running smoothly without any hiccups.

For both Stripe and Wise, a passport is not always mandatory, but it may be required under certain circumstances:

Stripe may ask for a passport or other government-issued identification to verify your identity if you\’re setting up a business account or if there are any issues with the verification process. Generally, Stripe accepts a range of documents, including driver’s licenses or ID cards.

Wise (formerly TransferWise) may also request a passport for identity verification, especially if you’re opening a business account or making large transactions. However, they also accept other forms of ID, such as a driver\’s license or national ID card.

Both platforms require you to provide proof of identity to meet compliance regulations, so it\’s always good to have multiple ID options available.
